Powered by a Rolls Royce-Allison gas turbine engine, the Turbine SUPERBIKE™ has demonstrated over 320-hp and 425-ft/lbs of torque on the Dyne Jet 200 and has been clocked at a record breaking 227-mph.

Representing the latest in engineering technology, the bike features carbon fiber fairings, a tubular aluminum frame containing the bike's transmission fluids and reserve tank, a rear-mounted camera with LCD color display, SmartStart™ computerized ignition, and more. Men's Journal lists the Turbine SUPERBIKE™ as one the most "…awe-inspiring, innovative, and otherwise amazing designs" in their feature article 'Perfect Stuff'. Regulating motorcycles, mopeds, and scooters

The EPA and you:

Motorcycles sold nationwide will be required to meet strict emissions standards beginning in 2006. Motorcycles built before the 2006 model year would be unaffected by the new regulations. The EPA seeks to ensure emissions are brought under control. The EPA says manufacturers will be required to reduce hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxides by 60 per cent. The use of a catalytic converters on half or more of the motorcycles in the not so far off future is a real possibility along with fuel injection and water cooled only engines. Also the modifications of  these motorcycles in away that will affect the emissions will not be aloud by dealers or shops. Custom  EPA-exempt bikes have rules too. Like one per your lifetime and may not be sold for five years. This means if you sell it after five years you cannot own another exempt motorcycle ever. After market performance parts may go the way of the dinosaur for street bikes due to the strict rules on engine modifications for new bikes. Older bikes are exempt form the rules. but getting a shop to work on them may become an issue. There are several other changes on the way so read the EPA ruling and other articles about the changes ahead. Time will tell what this all means for the motorcycle world. One thing is for sure it will be different.
